Don’t Stay Down

Get Up. You Must Win.

There are moments in life when we find ourselves down. We become discouraged. We become disappointed. We become tired of fighting. Sometimes it is because of sickness. Sometimes it is because of money. Sometimes it is because of marriage, relationships, rejection, or the opinions of other people. But whatever has caused you to fall down, you cannot stay down.

You have to get up.

Some of us have allowed ourselves to stop moving because of somebody else’s opinion. We stopped dreaming because somebody said we couldn’t. We stopped serving because somebody didn’t appreciate us. We stopped believing because somebody rejected us.

But let me ask you a question:

You have been so concerned about somebody else’s opinion of you, but what about God’s opinion of you?

What does God say about you?

People can change their minds about you, but God does not change His mind about His purpose for you. People may walk away, but God remains. People may reject you, but God still calls you.

So get up.

Don’t allow sickness to keep you down.

Don’t allow financial difficulties to keep you down.

Don’t allow problems in your marriage to keep you down.

Don’t allow somebody’s feelings about you to keep you down.

GET UP!

There is a saying that says, “Dogs don’t bark at parked cars.” Sometimes the very fact that you’re being attacked is an indication that you are moving toward something. The enemy does not have to fight what is going nowhere.

So don’t let the barking make you park.

Keep moving.

Psalm 42 asks the question, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul?” The psalmist was honest about his emotional condition, but he didn’t allow his emotions to have the final word. He spoke to his own soul and told it to hope in God.

There comes a time when you have to talk to yourself.

You have to call your own name and say:

“Get up!”

The enemy wants to keep you down because he understands that if you stay down long enough, you may forget who you are and whose you are.

He wants you discouraged.

He wants you distracted.

He wants you emotionally exhausted.

He wants you to stop doing the work of God.

But you cannot stop.

Even if nobody shows up, keep doing the work.

Even if nobody applauds, keep doing the work.

Even if nobody recognizes you, keep doing the work.

Your assignment was never dependent upon people’s attendance, approval, or applause.

Get up and keep going.

The Word of God declares that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. If Christ is in the vessel, then there is still something inside of you that can smile in the middle of the storm.

The storm does not determine what is inside the vessel.

The storm only reveals it.

The enemy has tried to break us. He has tried to keep us down. He has played with our emotions and used disappointment to make us question whether we should continue.

But I don’t care what you have been through from January until now.

GET UP.

You must win.

You cannot stay down.

Yes, there may have been failures. Yes, there may have been moments when you didn’t do what you knew you should have done. But failure is not your final destination.

Get back up.

I even had to take a step back from doing lives because I felt like I was pushing everybody toward heaven while I was struggling with my own walk. But I came to realize that I could not remain down because of how I felt.

I, Dr. Letitia Aletha, must get up and win.

And I believe there are people who need to say the same thing:

I must get up and win.

We are not winning when we remain in the place where God is calling us to rise from. We cannot continue allowing the enemy to convince us that our worst moment is our permanent identity.

Today, decree over your life:

I WILL NOT STAY DOWN.

I will get up.

I will pray again.

I will believe again.

I will serve again.

I will love again.

I will dream again.

I will pursue God again.

I will keep moving.

I will not allow sickness, money, marriage, rejection, disappointment, failure, or somebody else’s opinion to determine my future.

The enemy may have tried to bury you, but he does not get the final word.

GET UP!

Your story is not over.

Your purpose is not over.

Your assignment is not over.

Your victory is not over.

So wipe the tears.

Strengthen your faith.

Lift your head.

Plant your feet.

And get back in the fight.

You must win.

You cannot stay down.

GET UP!
