God Will Not Disappoint You

It feels like you are at your wits’ end. You’ve prayed, fasted, sown seeds, read your Bible, trusted, and held on to faith — yet it seems like nothing is breaking. It’s not that you don’t want to trust God. It’s not that you haven’t been believing. You do love Him deeply, and your heart longs to please Him. But if you’re honest, it seems like every time you make up your mind to say, “God, despite how it looks, I will still trust You,” life hits you harder than before.

You get up, dust yourself off, and tell yourself you’re ready to move forward — only to find yourself knocked back, deeper in the valley than you were before. And after hearing over and over, “God is about to do it” or “Your breakthrough is near,” doubt starts whispering in your ear. Not because you don’t want to believe, but because it feels like the only things that come are disappointment and pain.

Waiting on God can be exhausting when you can’t see what He’s doing. You’ve been holding on for so long for what He promised that you’ve started to wonder if He’s forgotten you. But hear this: God has not forgotten you, and He will not disappoint you.

God’s Faithfulness Is Not Based on Feelings

Our emotions can easily convince us that nothing is changing, but God’s truth is unshakable.

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”
— Numbers 23:19 (NIV)

If God said it, He will do it. It may not happen when or how we expect, but His Word never returns void (Isaiah 55:11). The delay you’re experiencing is not God’s way of saying “no” — it’s His way of preparing you for something greater.

The Woman with the Issue of Blood — Relentless Faith

The woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25–34) had been suffering for twelve years. She tried everything — physicians, treatments, remedies — but nothing worked. In fact, her condition grew worse.

By that point, most people would have given up. But when she heard about Jesus, something in her rose up. She could have said, “I’ve been disappointed too many times before. Why bother?” But she didn’t.

She pressed through the crowd, weak and desperate, telling herself, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” (Mark 5:28) And the moment she touched Him, her bleeding stopped.

Why She Found Her Breakthrough

She didn’t get healed because she was the strongest, wealthiest, or most connected. She got healed because she didn’t stop moving. If she had stayed home in defeat, she would have missed her moment.

This is where many of us struggle — we stop pressing forward because we see no change. But think about it: if a car tire is flat and you never address it, you can’t expect to drive anywhere. If you stop pursuing God’s promises because of delays, how can you expect to see them fulfilled?

When Your Strength Runs Out

There comes a point when you realize your strength isn’t enough. You might be there right now — telling God, “I can’t hold on much longer.” And the truth is, you’re not meant to hold on in your own power.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

God’s plan has always been for you to lean on His strength, not your own. This season may feel like it’s breaking you, but it’s really building you — strengthening your faith for the blessing ahead.

Disappointment Is Not God’s Final Answer

Repeated disappointments can make you want to stop expecting. But disappointment is not the end of the story.

Look at Joseph. He had a God-given dream, but before it came to pass, he was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned. Each setback could have been the moment he gave up. Yet in God’s timing, Joseph went from prisoner to ruler, fulfilling the dream exactly as God had shown him (Genesis 37–50).

What looked like delays were actually steps in God’s divine process.

Your Breakthrough Could Be Closer Than You Think

When you feel like giving up, remember:
• The woman with the issue of blood pressed through and was healed.
• Blind Bartimaeus kept shouting for Jesus until he received his sight (Mark 10:46–52).
• Paul and Silas sang praises at midnight, and the prison doors flew open (Acts 16:25–26).

Every one of these miracles happened because someone chose to act in faith before the breakthrough came.

God sees you. He knows your struggle, your tears, and your silent prayers. He has numbered the hairs on your head (Luke 12:7) and keeps track of every tear you’ve cried (Psalm 56:8).

He does not start something and leave it unfinished. This waiting season is not wasted — it’s preparation for something greater than you can imagine.

It’s tempting to think that nothing will ever change, but God’s track record is flawless. He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). What He’s promised you is still on the way.

Like the woman with the issue of blood, don’t let pain, delays, or past disappointments keep you from reaching again. The next time you stretch your hand in faith may be the moment everything shifts.

God will not disappoint you. Stay in position. Keep pressing. Your breakthrough is coming.
